WHY A COLUMBARIUM?

Cemeteries have long been part of church properties over the course of the years, providing dedicated Christian burial grounds for members of the congregation. In recent years cremations have become more common, thus we simply continue a practice of ages past.

WHO MAY BE INURNED IN THE COLUMBARIUM?

Current members of First Lutheran Church, Lincoln, Nebraska, a member's child before baptism, and former members of First Lutheran Church at the discretion of the Columbarium Board may be inurned in the Columbarium.

Christian Inurnment services of worship will be conducted under the supervision of a pastor of this congregation.

SPECIFICATIONS

Each niche will accommodate the remains of one person.

The full name of the deceased, with the date of birth and death, will be engraved on the face plate of each niche.

WHO GOVERNS THE COLUMBARIUM?

There is a Columbarium Board which oversees the garden, the Columbarium, and the upkeep, including the maintenance and perpetual care.

The Columbarium Board consists of the Senior Pastor and six lay members appointed by the Church Council.
