"Faith is formed by the power of the Holy Spirit through personal, trusted relationships." What does this mean? While parents are key influencers upon the faith and values of children, non-parent adults also have a very important role to play. For most children and youth to grow into adult faith maturity, they need at least three non-parent adult mentors of vital faith. Our Children's Ministry goal is to expose young people not just to Christian teachings, but also to real live adult Christians who call them by name and support them in their journey of faith. Providing our young people with an extended Christian family gives our children and youth a resource pool of adults who can help them develop their own understanding of faith. As one of our Shepherds states, "Children need a web of grown-ups who care, grown-ups who are not perfect, but are willing to walk with them through the mess that we call living our Faith."
