Building Connections with Youth
The teenage years are a time of great change and development - physically, emotionally and spiritually. At First Lutheran, we know that youth's connection to the church during their teens years is crucial to their faith formation. Our youth ministry programs seek to provide youth with a safe and nurturing environment where they can explore who they are, who they are becoming and encourage them to develop a deeper relationship with God and live their lives as disciples.
In both our middle school and senior high youth groups, we balance fellowship activities with group building, learning and service opportunities. By involving youth in the greater life of the congregation and the community, they realize how much they have to offer. We also work hard at developing relationships between youth, parents and other members of the congregation who are gifted for mentoring youth, so they always have someone to turn to when in need of support or a listening ear. This holistic approach to youth ministry helps us in our ultimate goal of lifting up faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.
