Gracious and loving God,
We bring our backpacks filled with notebooks, pencils and aspirations – aspirations of learning, growth and new beginnings. A new school year is a time of anticipation and excitement, mingled with a touch of nervousness, as we step into fresh opportunities and unknown adventures.
We lift before you all who will begin this season anew. For the students, we ask for curiosity to explore, courage to try and kindness to offer. May their backpacks carry not just supplies but also reminders of your abiding love and the support of this community.
For the teachers, who pour out their hearts and energy into shaping minds and spirits, we pray for wisdom, patience and strength. May they see the beauty in each student they teach and may they find moments of joy even on the hardest of days.
For parents and families, who balance schedules, pack lunches and wipe away tears, we ask that they trust in your guidance and feel your peace through every transition and challenge.
Lord, we ask for your hands of protection over every classroom, hallway, bus and playground. Guard these spaces and fill them with laughter, learning and love. Grant wisdom to all who lead and guide in education, that they may make decisions rooted in justice, equity and care for every person.
We bless every backpack as carriers of hope, purpose and faith, wherever they may go. May they be symbols of your presence in the everyday moments of life.
