The sacred events of Holy Week are upon us. We begin our annual pilgrimage to Jesusalem to witness the acts of God which make our faith today possible. We move from waving palms and hosannas, to secret meetings in Upper Rooms, to trials and beatings, an execution and burial, and, finally, to an empty tomb.
Good Friday’s service of Jesus’ Seven Last Words at Noon* and 6:30 pm journeys with Jesus in his final days on the cross. Each service will end with time for personal prayer and meditation at the cross.
Our 5:30 pm Saturday evening service in the Sanctuary will be filled with anticipation of the Easter resurrection! It will also begin our weekly Saturday evening worship services at 5:30 pm.
Easter Vigil begins at 6:00 am on Easter Sunday in the darkness of our Memorial Garden with the lighting of the new flame. The congregation will enter the darkened Sanctuary by candlelight for the traditional reading of the scriptures, baptisms and celebration of Holy Communion.
Easter Sunday Festival services at 8:00* (FULL-REGISTRATION CLOSED), 9:30 (FULL – REGISTRATION CLOSED) and 11:00 am (FULL – REGISTRATION CLOSED) celebrate Christ’s victory over death. Easter hymns and brass choirs, Easter lilies and the celebration of Holy Communion make this morning like no other in the church year!
NOTE: Despite our limited Sanctuary seating being fully reserved for three of our four worship services on Easter morning we still welcome anyone who wants to walk-in and worship with us! Please note, however, that you will be seated at the last minute should there be seating available in the Sanctuary. If not, you will be seated in the Activity Center with a livestream of the worship service available on the big screen. Communion will be available in the Sanctuary at the end of the worship service. We recognize this isn’t an ideal situation, especially on Easter Sunday, but we want you to know you are more than welcome to worship with us on this very special day. If you would like to be put on a waiting list should there be any cancellations in the Sanctuary before Sunday, contact email@example.com.
