The Kicks for Kids campaign returns for its milestone 10th year, expanding its mission to serve students in 10 elementary schools, 5 middle schools and the Las Abejitas Bilingual Education Center. This important ministry offers children in need a new pair of athletic shoes and socks—providing not just comfort, but confidence and support for their journey through the school year.
Last year, the campaign provided 273 pairs of shoes and 1,365 pairs of socks, thanks to the generosity of our community. New shoes help students succeed in the classroom by offering comfort and reducing distraction, foster pride and inclusion on the playground and ensure safety on daily walks to and from school.
You can support this year’s campaign by donating funds or purchasing shoes by picking up a tag at the display in the Gathering Area at church between September 20–28. Shoes purchased for students should be returned to the church by October 5. On October 28 at 9:30 AM, everyone is invited to join the Kicks for Kids Prep & Pack Party to help pack and prepare the shoes and socks for delivery.
Much has changed in the last 10 years, but one thing that hasn’t is the need for proper shoes on students’ feet and our congregation’s response to make sure those shoes get there. Join us in helping students put their best foot forward!
