A Message for Members from the Lincoln Police Department

By October 3, 2024News

Dear Church Leaders/Pastors,

We have seen a recent increase in larceny from vehicles across the city. We believe that with the help of our community churches, we can spread awareness and reduce these incidents.

We recently had an incident where a purse was stolen from a vehicle parked in the church parking lot and the victim’s credit cards were used to make fraudulent purchases. This unfortunate event highlights the importance of taking simple precautions to protect our belongings and prevent further crime.

We kindly ask for your assistance in sharing the following key safety reminders with your congregations:

  • Lock your vehicles at all times, even when parked in familiar locations.
  • Remove valuable items or keep them out of sight to avoid attracting unwanted attention.
  • Report any suspicious behavior or anything out of the ordinary to the police immediately by calling non-emergency number (402)441-6000, or 911 in case of an emergency.

By working together, we can help keep our community safe and prevent these crimes from happening. Thank you for your continued dedication to the safety and well-being of our community.
