On Sunday, October 14, survivor of the Khmer Rouge genocide in Cambodia, Channy Chhi Laux, also author of Short Hair Detention, will be the featured speaker at the Adult Forum. Channy was 13 years old when the Khmer Rouge took over the country of Cambodia in 1975. From 1975 to 1979, she endured starvation, illness, horrible working conditions and separations from her family. She will share what she has done with her life since these trying times. Channy will also speak about the role First Lutheran and members of First Lutheran played in her life in America. Her Adult Forum presentation will be from 9:30-10:30 am in the Chapel.
