Accompaniment 101 Training

By March 1, 2018News, Serve

All who are currently involved in a serving ministry or would like to learn more about accompaniment are welcome to the Accompaniment 101 Training on Monday, March 7, from 7:00-9:00 pm. Our focus in the training will be to look at First Lutheran’s ministries and explore how we can truly accompany or “walk with” our neighbors. Without even knowing it, we can fall into a donor-recipient model of serving or engage in what some have labeled as “toxic charity”. The question we will explore is who holds the power in the relationship and how we put people first. That may move us out of our comfort zone at times, but it is what we are called to do as we serve. Please let Sunni know if you plan to attend so materials are ready for everyone.
