Not even Hurricane Elsa ruined their day. They got a quick beach trip in after their work day at Salvation Army and before the rain. The other group took their turn making cards and cleaning at the housing site.
Youth participant, Liz Scharton, shared:
“I saw the ocean for the very first time. It was so beautiful to look out and just see the sea. I was so excited just getting in the van. It wasn’t a super long drive there but I just wanted to run all the way there! When I got to the pier, I ran all the way down to the ocean, jumped in the water and just smiled. We were told not to into the water all the way, but we ended up soaked anyway. We dried off and got ice cream at the end and headed back to the church for the night.”
