Adult Forum Schedule for November

By October 29, 2018Adults, Learn

Sundays at 9:30-10:25 am in the Chapel

November 4 –Caminando juntxs: 2019 Nebraska Synod – Argentina Accompaniment Trip; Pastor Justin Eller. What might a synod delegation trip look like if there was no product at the end other than strengthened relationships? It would look like sisters and brothers in Christ gathering, worshipping, eating, dancing, laughing and dreaming together…and really so much more. Join Pastor Justin on Sunday as he shares about his recent trip with the Nebraska Synod to visit the United Evangelical Lutheran Church in Argentina.

November 11 – A Rob Bell DVD and Discussion. Rob Bell Jr. is a pastor, New York Times best selling author, freelance writer and speaker on topics related to spirituality and leadership. In 2011, Time Magazine named Bell on its list of the 100 Most Influential People in the World.

November 18 – Pastoral Stories about the Stages of Dementia; Pastor Justin Eller. Elderly adults who suffer with Alzheimer’s dementia lose the capacity to emotionally process, be vulnerable and integrate their feelings with their life stories and narratives. One way of providing pastoral care is to enter their frequently repeated “old stories” with them. Join the conversation and hear stories about how to accompany a loved one suffering from Alzheimer’s from where they are or journey with them through their stories and speaking a language that is still familiar to them, enriching the care process.

November 25 – The Friendship Home; Sarah Troyer, Development Coordinator. The Friendship Home supports, shelters and advocates for victims of domestic violence and their children. Friendship Home saves and changes lives for 1,500 victims of domestic violence and their children annually in Lincoln and Lancaster County.
