“Advent is a season that encourages us to pray from our bones. Its vivid stories and songs implore us to pursue, desire and cry out for what is still not yet, still to come, still our deepest need and hope: God coming among us to redeem all creatures and to make this God-beloved world a place where all enjoy abundant life together. ‘Don’t hold back,’ Advent seems to say, ‘because God is not done with this world.’” (Taken from BuildingFaith)
In Advent, we gather not only on the weekends, but also in the middle of the week, to be nourished and to nourish one another through warm food, conversation, song and prayer, for the sake of our God-beloved world.
This year we will have the special addition of a prayground to our 6:30 PM Holden Evening Prayer services. A prayground is a way of making room for children. We’ll set up a space in the Sanctuary near the choir area for kids to pray playfully and be a part of the worship service. It’s a way of giving space both for children to experience worship in a new way and for families to worship together in a new way.
Join us every Wednesday during the Advent season as we eat, pray and sing together. Services will be held at noon and 6:30 PM, with a livestream available. After the noon service, feel free to stay for soup and conversation, or arrive early, starting at 5:30 PM, for the evening service to enjoy the same warm fellowship.
