Last week, we explored what it means to “accompany” one another through embracing. Our “What We Can Do” stewardship campaign journey continues this week as we explore another key word: advocating.
Walking with someone means being there for them. It’s not just about listening—sometimes it’s about speaking up for them too. Advocacy is all about using your voice to stand up for someone’s rights and well-being. It comes from a place of faith and a commitment to justice. When we walk alongside others and see injustice, speaking out is the right thing to do.
Advocacy doesn’t always mean grand gestures; often, it starts small. It could be as simple as speaking up for someone whose voice isn’t heard or standing with those who are vulnerable. It’s really about putting your faith into action, seeking justice and showing compassion wherever you are.
This week, think about what advocating means to you. Where do you see a need for a compassionate voice? Consider how you can make advocacy a part of your faith journey.
