Our summer Backyard Safari learning program was a HUGE hit with kids, parents and even grandparents! For six weeks families explored God’s creation in their own home, backyard and neighborhood. It was a busy and fun summer with kite making and flying, building church birdhouses, making dirt dessert, looking at the stars and moon, picking up trash, creating wind art and houses on rocks and writing letters to shut ins – just to name a few of the activities!
Emily Schmitter, a Backyard Safari mom, shared:
The vacation bible school program Backyard Safari was a big hit with our family this summer! I feel like it was extremely age appropriate for our younger elementary age kids. The videos, readings, and activities were all short enough to keep their attention, but still very impactful. Our family had some wonderful discussions about all that God has created, and his role in our lives every day. I know the lessons we learned this summer have stuck with my boys, as they have enjoyed telling our neighbors and family members all the ways God is good in our life. We have also enjoyed the quality time spent together (snack making, bird watching walks, looking at the night sky, etc).
