Today was an important day in the life of First Lutheran Church. The congregation voted on two motions made by the Congregational Church Council related to our Welcoming and Accessibility Building Project. One motion was for approval of the building project and the other motion was to approve financing of the project. Both motions were unanimously approved by the congregation!
Praise be to God for the understanding, strength, faith and love granted to us throughout this process and may his Spirit continue to guide us to become the welcoming community he desires us to be.
Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. ~Ephesians 3: 20-21
The congregation and Church Council President, Barry Graham, patiently wait for anyone opposed to the motion for the building project to say, “No.” After no one votes, “no”, the motion is passed unanimously.
A unanimous vote on the financing of the building project brings smiles and applause from the congregation. As Church Council President, Barry Graham, said, “We just took a big leap of faith! But, that’s what we’re all about.”
