The spotlight is on the blues as Ed Love and his talented combo take the stage for a First Friday Jazz concert at First Lutheran Church, 1551 South 70th Street, Lincoln, on May 2. Join us in the church Activity Center from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM for a performance you won’t want to miss. Admission is free, and lunch will be available for purchase.
With Ed Love on saxophone and clarinet, he’ll be joined by an all-star lineup featuring Tom Harvill on piano, Hans Sturm on bass and Justin Jones on drums. The concert, titled “Can’t Lose with the Blues,” will showcase unforgettable tracks from jazz legends like Charles Mingus, Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk and Herbie Hancock – plus a few surprises beyond the blues!
This is the grand finale of the First Friday Jazz series for the 2024-25 season, but don’t worry – we’ll be back October 3 to kick off another exciting round of concerts through May 2026. Don’t miss this last chance to soak up some amazing live jazz music as we close our 13th season!
