Join us on Sunday, May 11, from 9:15 to 10:30 AM in the Activity Center for a special Mother’s Day Brunch as we celebrate the incredible women in our lives. Indulge in pancakes and fresh fruit while contributing to meaningful causes.
Half of the freewill donations from this event will go toward providing life-changing summer opportunities for our First youth.
Middle and High School Accompaniment Trips
From July 16-19, a small group of youth and adults will embark on a meaningful journey to South Dakota’s National Parks. Together, they will worship, explore the beauty of nature and serve within a Native American community.
Earlier in the month, from July 6-12, nine high school students and two adults will travel to Nashville to serve the local community, connect with other Nebraska Synod youth and engage in worship and devotions.
For many participants, these trips represent more than just service opportunities – they are a chance to deepen their faith and build meaningful relationships. Here’s a closer look at the profound impact these experiences can have:
I’m mostly looking forward to meeting a bunch of new people and possibly seeing some we’ve met on other trips. I decided to go on this trip because I always look forward to exploring places I’ve never been in the summer. These trips strengthen my faith because there’s always at least one story where I feel Jesus was a part of it.” ~Sophia Johnson-Alavarez
“I’m excited to learn from and walk alongside the community in Nashville. Previous trips have changed my perspective on the world, and I’m grateful for opportunities like this. Trips like these strengthen my faith because I get to see how God is working in different places and hear people’s stories about faith.” ~Caitlin Buckwalter
“I’m looking forward to seeing what it’s like living in Nashville and helping people who are in need. It’s going to be such a good experience traveling to another state and doing God’s work by helping others, just as Jesus did.” ~Maxx Clark
“I’m excited to meet new friends while serving in Nashville and helping the community. Each trip I’ve taken has taught me so much about how God works in magical ways. This will be my 4th trip, and I know it will strengthen my faith by letting me connect with others and remind me that we are all part of God’s family.” ~Cora Hoeft
Camp Carol Joy Holling Scholarships
We’re excited to also provide opportunities for youth to experience the faith-filled adventures of summer camp, like Kaitlyn Brock, who shared her enthusiasm for returning to camp this year:
“I love going to Ranch Camp at Carol Joy Holling. The counselors and friends make it so special every year, and I’ve made so many meaningful connections. I’m also looking forward to seeing the horses again, especially Bob, who’s become ‘my horse’ over the years. Camp lets me grow in my faith alongside other kids and reminds me that I have friends in Christ everywhere I go.”
Supporting Mothers in Need
The other half of the donations will go to the Friendship Home in Lincoln, an organization devoted to helping mothers and children impacted by domestic violence. Your generosity will provide resources, support and hope for those who need it most.
Honor the incredible women in your life with great food, good company and the chance to make a lasting impact.
