Our Confirmation: Dinner + Learning ministry for 7th and 8th graders is a time for the youth to affirm their baptism and God’s work that has been going on every day since their baptism and an opportunity for parents to fulfill their baptismal promise to their child.
Confirmation at First Lutheran is more about building relationships, with parents and youth sharing and growing in faith together, rather than just learning Lutheran teachings. It is a ministry that expects the commitment of both youth and parents (or other adult) because some of the most important learning happens in hard and awkward conversations around faith and God.
Once a month the youth and their parent(s), along with high school and college mentors, come together for dinner, learning, conversation, fun and fellowship. Here are a few fun photos from last month’s gathering…
