Here is Wednesday’s recap of the middle school accompaniment in Milwaukee from youth participant, Owen Paulsen:
“We had a successful, but tiring day. We started by stocking shelves at Project Concern, a local food and clothing bank. We also boxed food for families and helped unload a delivery. (It was very similar to our own Lincoln Lutheran Food Pantry – just much larger). We then went to Summer City Camp where we played games with the kids. We ended our day with worship, followed by a walk to a local custard shop.”
Adult advisor, Sharon Hardel, also adds, “We explored a bit of the river walk area and the youth went for a swim in Lake Michigan. Our other work groups spent the day removing evasive plants from a trail area and pulling weeds at Alice’s Garden Urban Farm.”
