Day One of Vacation Bible School: Feed

Operation Restoration Vacation Bible School at First Lutheran is off and running!

Today’s theme is “Feed.” The children began their morning with breakfast and then enjoyed an opening skit where they saw how they can mend God’s world by feeding others. In storytelling they heard about manna in the desert, followed by a science experiment, involving white carnations and blue dye, to see how capillaries work to feed our bodies The question is: “How blue will the carnations get?” The kiddos also made Amish Friendship bread starters so they can share bread with others in service learning. Of course, the morning wouldn’t have been complete without enjoying snacks and making new friends!

Thank you to all of the helpers and leaders for making day one of VBS a success!
