It’s time for an update on Day Three from Louisville!
Mike, Mark, Stephen and Maxx worked at Yew Dell Garden weeding around trees so mulch could be put down. Kristi, Anna, and Kaitlyn worked at Louisville parks painting picnic tables and picking up storm debris. They then went to Supplies Overseas Seas and cut plastic piecs off batteries so they could be shipped to other countries. Sharon, Christian and Cole went to the Franciscan Kitchen where they gave out 724 servings to members of the community. We got a tour of Churchill Downs and even got to see a race which was a highlight of the day!
Here are some reflections from Stephen and Maxx…
Stephen: “Me and Maxx went to the Botanical Gardens and dug up some roots and planted some flowers. What I liked about today is being with Mark and Mike outside in public and helping out the workers at the gardens.”
Maxx: “What I liked about this trip is the feeling of helping people and seeing what types of situations these people are in. It also just feels good morally to help out these people in need. I also liked that we were able to worship God in our devotions and evening worship time like prayer practices, reading bible verses, singing and dancing.”
