Dealing With a Crisis or Difficulty in Life? Stephen Ministers are Ready to Listen and Support

By August 17, 2023Care Ministry, News, Serve

Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:2, NRSV)

Caring for others in need is part of our DNA as a congregation. It is tied to our understanding of what it means to welcome. We have a number of caring ministries, including Stephen Ministry.

Our Stephen Ministry has been around for more than a decade and has trained Stephen Ministers who have journeyed alongside many, many others through tough moments in life, such as the death of a loved one, the end of a friendship or significant relationship, a health-related diagnosis, loss of employment, moving to a new community and many other life- changing events. Stephen Ministers offer a listening ear, prayerful presence, open heart and distinctively Christian care.

Are you dealing with loneliness, loss, discouragement, hospitalization or terminal illness, grief, relationship difficulty, hardship, loss of job, retirement changes or just need encouragement?  Do you know someone who is? If so, please know that First Lutheran has Stephen Ministers who are willing to walk with you and them. Send a confidential message to learn more at
