In the United States, we use 500 million straws a day! That is enough straw waste to wrap the circumference of the earth 2.5 times or to fill Yankee Stadium over 9 times a year! Now imagine that magnified by global consumption! At First Lutheran, we are trying to change those stats. Our Earth Day Celebration yesterday kicked off, “The Last Straw Campaign”. There was music, facts, fun, and NO plastic straws! Join our campaign by no longer using plastic straws!
