Stories help us connect, they draw us in and give meaning to our lives. Sometimes they shatter our understandings and give us new insights and new stories. A good story may make us cry or it make us burst in to laughter because in stories we find ourselves and connections to people and things beyond ourselves. There’s power in sharing a story whether we are the listener or the story teller.
As we wrap up the school year, FaithTrek kids will be focusing on stories. It’s where we started in September and an appropriate place for sending the kids in to summer. Some might say we have covered the “once upon a time” and “happily ever after” story since we covered Jesus coming in to the world and the Easter story. But the story continues because we are part of Jesus’ story. As disciples we are called to continue the work Jesus started as he taught his rag-muffin crew to love thy neighbor, feed the hungry, care for the sick and fight for peace and justice in the world.
