This past weekend, Lincoln was alive with love and community at the Star City Pride Festival and First Lutheran Church was honored to be a part of the festivities.
Family, friends and people of all ages came together in the spirit of inclusivity and we were proud to share our message of “All Are Welcome.” Dozens of local businesses, nonprofits and congregations joined with booths, creating a lively and supportive atmosphere.
At our booth, we connected with the community in meaningful ways. Our swag – Rainbow Skittles, water bottle stickers and pins – sparked smiles and conversations, while kids loved the colorful affirming coloring pages and crayon packs reminding them of God’s unconditional love.
The most touching part of the festival was hearing people express gratitude for seeing a faith community proudly present. Many thanked us for sharing the simple message that God’s love is for everyone.
At First Lutheran Church, we strive to live this message every day. Just as God welcomes all, so do we. Thank you, Star City Pride, for letting us celebrate this wonderful community together!
