First Lutheran Says “No” to Hatred of Any Form

By January 30, 2020News

The Faith Coalition of Lancaster County (FCLC) is an interfaith gathering of people of faith who live and serve in the Lincoln area. We were one of the founding congregations when it was created six years ago. In response to the antisemitic graffiti found on the South Street Temple last week, the FCLC Executive Board offers the following statement of support:

“Faith Coalition of Lancaster County joins in solidarity with Congregation B’nai Jeshurun (South Street Temple), with members of the congregation, and with all faith traditions represented within our community. Diversity of beliefs enriches our culture and our individual beliefs. Diversity creates a loving and accepting community where everyone belongs. When one faith community suffers from hateful actions, we all suffer.

By joining in solidarity, we firmly say “NO!” to those who seek to marginalize, ostracize and cause harm. We respond with care, with support and with love for all who have been impacted negatively by this thoughtless act of hatred.”

As disciples who serve at First Lutheran Church we also say “NO” to hatred in any form.

Peace,
Pastor Dan
