First Lutheran’s “Called to Welcome” Building Project Featured in National Publication

By May 11, 2022News

The Mission Investment Fund (MIF) of the ELCA, located in Chicago, is a ministry of the ELCA with faith and finance as its core. It is a source of financing to ELCA congregations and ministries and a vehicle to invest in the work of the church.

Six months ago, MIF staff reached out to First Lutheran requesting to feature a story about our Called to Welcome building project and the MIF funds used to finance it in their national publication, “The Mustard Seed.”

Following numerous interviews with staff and lay leaders and a visit by a Chicago-based photographer during worship in March, the story is now being shared with ELCA congregations around the country! Take time to read the story as it will be a wonderful reminder of how we are called to welcome all into the future with our newly renovated space!
