First Friday Jazz Opens 7th Season with Ed Love Combo

By October 3, 2017Events, News

“I Got Rhythm – Music by George Gershwin” has been selected by Ed Love as his combo opens the 7th season of First Friday Jazz on October 6 at First Lutheran Church.

With Ed on saxophone, he will be joined by Tom Haravill on piano, Hans Sturm on bass and Justin Jones on drums. Ed is a popular performer in the Lincoln and Midwest musical scene. He has been a member of the Nebraska Jazz Orchestra and leader of its saxophone section since 1978. A year later he was named Music Director, a position he still holds. Ed’s yearly appearance in the First Friday Jazz series is one of the highlights of the season. Just listen to a short clip of his performance last season and you will see for yourself why his music is always a crowd favorite!

There is no charge for this event. Please note this season’s concert will be only 60 minutes in length – from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. Lunch will be available for purchase or guests can bring their own and stay as long as schedules permit.
