What will that look like for us? For starters, the My Story, Our Story, God’s Story board in the Commons has become a community space where people of all ages have the opportunity to build closer faith connections. This fall, together, we are exploring the question, “What Biblical story connects with your own story?”
When you visit the Community Story Board, you will find responses like these:
“Parable of the Mustard Seed. I pray for faith the size of the mustard seed and all that God will do with even a tiny faith.” ~Anonymous
“The Bent-Over Woman. I connect greatly to her suffering of chronic pain and finally being healed! After experiencing chronic back pain, I found a gifted PT whose diligence, creativity, experience and manual therapy skills (over 2 years) helped to unwind and untangle… restrictions…and guided me to gain strength. I now physically walk taller and feel more confident because she was Christ for me…” ~Carol
Noah’s Ark because Noah did the right thing and listened to God so God could make the earth a better place.” ~Maddie
“The story of John the Baptist because Jesus was baptized.” ~Owen
It’s easy to see why cards posted by members are relationship-builders and conversation starters. Whose post reminds you of your own story in some way? Which post makes you think more deeply about a challenge you’ve experienced? Which post left you wanting to know more? Imagine what can happen when you add your story!
Simply stop by the Go and… community board in the Commons and complete your story card and stick it on the board. You can also email Kathleen Simley your story and she will ensure a story card is completed for you and posted with all the others!
