Happy Earth Day: Honoring God’s Creation

By April 22, 2026Learn, News, Serve

Happy Earth Day!

Caring for God’s creation is one of the simplest—and most meaningful—ways we live out our faith each day. The earth is a gift and even small actions can make a big difference when we care for it together.

Looking for a few easy ways to get started?

For adults:

  • Reduce waste—use reusable bags, bottles and coffee cups
  • Plant flowers, trees or a small garden
  • Be mindful of energy use—turn off lights, unplug when not in use

For families:

  • Take a walk and pick up litter in your neighborhood
  • Start a recycling routine at home
  • Spend time outside together—hike, bike or simply enjoy God’s creation

For kids:

  • Turn off the water while brushing teeth
  • Help plant and care for flowers or a garden
  • Create art from recycled materials

Every small step is an act of gratitude and care. Today—and every day—let’s honor the beauty of creation and do our part to protect it.
