Houses for Health of Tanzania builds homes for individuals with severe health problems and those living in extreme poverty, particularly those whose death would leave behind orphans. For the very poor in Tanzania, poverty leads to bad health and bad health leads to poverty creating a vicious downward spiral. The modest, two-room homes that are built offer better living conditions and protection from the elements, promoting better health. Built with 100% local labor and materials, they also boost the local economy.
Bob Kasworm has led the Houses for Health Tanzanian effort since its inception in 2001 and has lived in Tanzania since 2004. He represents the Nebraska Synod of the ELCA in Tanzania and is a Global Mission Associate. He is a member of Lord of Love Lutheran Church of Omaha.
Listen to Bob’s video message to First Lutheran Church below and how giving to this Sunday’s Noisy Offering will help build a home for Tanzanians in need. One hundred percent of our offering will go to building a home. The cost for building a House for Health is approximately $3,500. Bring your change, dollar bills or check to worship on Sunday and let’s make a joyful noise for Houses for Health during our Noisy Offering!
