Day 2 of Vacation Bible School is in the books! The day’s theme was “Heal.” We had a visit from Major, the ambassador dog of Domestipups, and his trainer, Anne, to learn how dogs can help. We made first aid kits in science and included emergency phone numbers, including the suicide hot line. Each family was able to take a kit home and the remaining kits will be donated. In storytelling, we heard about Jesus healing a woman who was bent over (Luke 13:10-17) and then made puppets to tell the story and other healing stories were shared. We have a growing donation pile, including food for the Lutheran Food Pantry and pet food and bedding for the animal shelter. We will continue collecting those items, as well as water bottles, personal care items, and summer toys for children as the week goes on.
