Holden Evening Prayer Service Today

Today’s mid-week Advent worship service at Noon and 6:30 pm will be our much-loved Holden Evening Prayer Service. Click here to listen to a bit of the beautiful music you will hear this evening.

Our worship theme this week will be “Darkness Did Not Overcome” as we focus on “In Light & Darkness” during the Advent season. Like stars in a night sky, the light and the darkness co-exist, each helping create a space for and define the other. They are part of the same world. They make each other visible, knowable. Without the dark sky, how would we see the stars shine? Without their shining, how could we guess at the scope of the sky?

First Lutheran member and college student, Bailey Sandman, will offer a reflection during our worship time on how hope helped her overcome darkness during a difficult time in her life.

Join us at Noon on Zoom by clicking here or join us on Facebook at 6:30 pm for a meaningful worship experience. You can also watch the worship service on-demand on our website. You are welcome.

Spend some time also with this week’s devotional that includes a scripture reading, coloring page and reflection questions on how light and darkness co-exist in your life.
