We will be welcoming Joey Gulizia and his quartet to the First Friday Jazz stage for the first time on February 1!
Joey is a professional musician who has been performing since childhood. By the age of 10, he was drumming regularly with his father, Joe Gulizia Sr., and brother, Tony. His music has taken him to many places, including all 50 of the United States and countries, such as Austria and Switzerland. He has toured with Mannheim Steamroller and performed on the annual Gulizia Brothers Jazz Cruise to Alaska and the Caribbean.
Along with performing and entertaining, Joey’s been involved in music education for over 30 years. He has conducted hundreds of residencies, workshops and clinics for students of all ages. He has been inducted to the “Nebraska Music Hall of Fame” and has received the “Excellence in Education” award by the Governor of Nebraska.
Joining Joey on the First Friday Jazz stage will be Dan Cerveny on the keyboard and bass, Greg Ahl on the drums and Ron Cooley on guitar.
The free concert at First Lutheran Church (70th and A Street) runs from 11:30 am-1:00 pm. Lunch will be available for purchase or bring your own! Come and bring a friend or two with you!
