Today is Ash Wednesday, the day we begin the season of Lent—a season that invites us to pause, reflect and turn again toward God and one another. This year at First Lutheran, our Lenten journey centers on the theme Good Neighbors, exploring how faith takes shape in everyday acts of care, compassion and presence.
Join us for Ash Wednesday worship today at 12:00 PM or 6:30 PM, including the imposition of ashes and Holy Communion. The ashes mark both our fragility and our deep belonging to God and to one another. All are welcome.
Throughout Lent, we invite you to gather for Midweek Lenten Worship: Holden Evening Prayer, held Wednesdays at 12:00 PM and 6:30 PM (February 25; March 4, 11, 18 and 25). These simple, reflective services are shaped by scripture, silence and song, with members of our congregation sharing stories of what it means to live as Good Neighbors.
Shared meals are also part of our Lenten tradition, with lunch following the noon service at 12:30 PM and dinner before the evening service at 5:30 PM—time to connect, listen and be together. Can you offer a crockpot of soup for one of the Lenten meals? It would be so helpful and appreciative to the Fellowship Committee who hosts these meals and all who enjoy them! Sign up online.
Whether you are beginning Lent today or joining along the way, you are invited. Come as you are and walk this Lenten journey with us.
