Last Thursday’s Justice in Action Nehemiah Action Assembly was a powerful testament to the influence of collective action. Over 1,200 members, clergy and guests from 25 JIA congregations came together, along with two City Council members, to champion changes in mental health navigation, adult pre-trial diversion and affordable housing in Lancaster County. Despite his initial agreement, County Attorney Condin was conspicuously absent from the assembly where discussions about adult pre-trial diversion concerns and solutions were to take place. For more information on the subsequent actions taken on Friday morning, please refer to the link provided below.
The Assembly served as a vivid illustration of the biblical call in Micah 6:8 to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with God. First Lutheran is honored to be a part of JIA, and as demonstrated through the impressive showing of members at the Assembly (and as seen in the photo above), our long-standing commitment to advocating for justice for all. Thank you to everyone who joined us!
