On November 3, 253 members of the Justice in Action community, including representatives from First Lutheran, gathered to elect new board members and vote on a new campaign focus: food insecurity. The three initiatives voted on from the 558 stories heard in 71 hosted listening/house sessions (as seen in the photo) were homelessness, food insecurity and affordable childcare.First member Barb Johnson Frank shared an inspiring story about building community—highlighting how one neighbor’s simple idea for a block concert brought 70 people together.
Mark your calendars for the Nehemiah Gathering on April 30 at St. Mark’s Methodist Church in Lincoln, where you will hear updates on these campaigns and plans for tackling food insecurity.
