This week, 242 students from Hamlow Elementary in Waverly, along with those from the intermediate and middle schools in Waverly, as well as Riley, Randolph, Pyrtle, Prescott, Meadowlane, McPhee, Holmes and Beattie Elementary schools in Lincoln, and the Las Abejitas Bilingual Education Center, will receive a new pair of tennis shoes and five pairs of socks. Arriving just in time for the cooler temperatures, these shoes will keep students’ feet warm and dry as winter approaches. Warm feet lead to improved focus in the classroom, more enjoyable recesses and easier walks to and from home.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to this year’s Kicks for Kids campaign. Now in its 9th year, this initiative has provided 2,263 pairs of shoes and 11,315 pairs of socks to students in need. If you doubt that a single act of kindness can make a difference, think again! Thank you to all who have helped children put their best foot forward over these past nine years!
