We’re thrilled to share some exciting news – Las Abejitas is now a Step 5 Center through Step Up to Quality, Nebraska’s Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS)! This means we’ve reached the highest level of recognition for our commitment to excellence in early childhood education. Step Up to Quality helps programs like ours go beyond state licensing requirements to offer the very best learning environment for your children. We’re proud to be doing just that – setting the stage for lifelong success!
In other great news, our program is steadily growing at both of our locations! We currently have openings at our central First-Plymouth location for children ages 6 months through school-age. Here at our east location, we have:
- 1 infant spot (15–18 months)
- 2 toddler spots (18–35 months)
We are also always accepting waitlist requests, and we expect to have a few openings in our 3–5-year-old rooms soon as our graduating preschoolers move up to our school-age summer camp – which still has just a few spots left!

We also want to give a special shout-out to our amazing First Lutheran volunteer readers – you are truly making a difference in the lives of our little ones, sparking a love of reading (and even gardening!). Our recent gardening day was a big hit and the children are loving watching their plants grow.
A big thanks as well to the First Lutheran Building Committee for spreading fresh mulch and adding new sand to our sandbox – the most popular part of our playground!
