Longest Night: Finding Light in Darkness This Holiday Season

On  Satuday, December 21, we will have Longest Night: A Service for Those Hurting during the Holidays.

In the northern hemisphere, we experience the longest night of the year on December 21st. On that day, we spend almost twice as long in the dark as in the light. Sometimes living in this world can seem just as bleak. Sometimes the holidays are not joyful or merry despite everyone’s good intentions.

The daylight of December 22 lasts a couple seconds longer than the day before and with each day that follows, more light finds its way into our lives. As we worship, we will be  honest about the hardness of living in a world filled with suffering and grief, but we also trust that the Light of God’s love is meant for times such as this. For it gives us courage to face the darkness knowing that Light will always overcome it.

Join us for this special service at 5:30 PM. All are welcome. Invite neighbors or friends who might need to hear a word of hope during this holiday season.
