Love is the theme when Ed Love and his Combo gather for the December 1 First Friday Jazz concert at First Lutheran Church.
According to Ed, you might title the concert “Songs You’ve Heard Before” or even “They Don’t Writ ‘em Like That Any More.” Such tunes as “Love and Marriage,” “L-O-V-E,” and “I Love You” will be featured, along with other jazz standards. With Ed on saxophone and clarinet, he will be joined by Tom Harvill on piano, Hans Sturm on bass and Justin Jones on percussion.
The concert will be held in the church Activity Center, 1551 South 70th Street, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. There is no admission charge, but contributions are encouraged to cover the musician’s fees, as well as contributions of non-perishable foods for the Lincoln Lutheran Food Pantry. Lunch will be available for purchase.
