FaithTrek, for preschoolers through 5th grade, will go from being an in-person class on Sunday mornings at 9:30 am to being a more fluid learning experience accessed through a new smartphone app. We will continue the theme of a word of the month, but there will be more focus on equipping parents to be primary faith educators out in the world. Kiddos and parents will explore how their Christian faith helps them be good neighbors, especially with neighbors in need and especially in a pandemic. We will be sharing similar resources online and through an app for families of middle and high school families to do at home.
Learning will go from being guided lessons to more building blocks to help parents help their children grow in faith daily from the dinner table to the grocery store, from bathtime to bedtime. Our goal is to equip parents to have faith-filled conversations with their children and how to navigate their hard faith questions.
An app will also be used for high school and middle school learning this year to communicate and share resources parents and youth can use at home. High school youth will also discuss online material during youth group once a month. We will also focus on a word of the month along with FaithTrek students.
This will be a year of being nimble, adaptable and flexible in how we approach learning and how we grow in our faith. We look forward to sharing how this new way of “living our faith” develops.
