On Palm Sunday afternoon, Christians across the country will take part in a visible, hope-filled movement rooted in the Gospel call to heal the sick, feed the hungry and welcome the stranger. Locally, congregations are invited to gather for a peaceful Palm Sunday Action Rally in Omaha as a public witness to these shared Christian values.
The rally will take place on Sunday, March 29 at 3:00 PM on the lawn of First United Methodist Church – Omaha (7020 Cass Street), near the corner of 72nd and Cass for community visibility. Hosted by Urban Abbey, Countryside Community Church and First United Methodist Church-Omaha, the event will include an opening prayer, remarks from local clergy and live music. Participants are encouraged to bring signs with positive messages focused on healthcare access, food access and welcoming the stranger.
Following the program, there will be time to mingle, connect and continue the conversation. Members of the press will be invited, and all clergy and lay people who feel called to stand in public witness are welcome to attend.
This Palm Sunday, join fellow Christians in lifting up a message of compassion, justice and hope.
