Peace takes practice.
During the passing of the peace, people step out of their pews, cross the aisle, introduce themselves, greet someone new and share a handshake, a hug or a smile.
These moments may seem small, but they help shape the kind of faith community we are always striving to be—one where people are noticed, welcomed and reminded that they have a place.
We do not always get it right, but we keep practicing: making room, reaching across the aisle and sharing the peace of Christ with one another.
Peace be with you. There is a place for you here.
