Join us for the Souper Bowl of Caring where every donation makes a real difference in someone’s life – right here in Lincoln!
Matthew 25:35-37 – “For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat…” – reminds us of our calling to serve others with love and compassion. Right here in Southeast Nebraska, 64,510 people are food insecure. The Souper Bowl of Caring is one way we can live out our mission as disciples of Christ and provide hope to our neighbors.
Starting January 12th until February 9th, be a part of our friendly competition at First Lutheran Church. Each week, two essential food items will face off in a friendly competition to support the Lincoln Lutheran Food Pantry. The best part? Your donations decide the winner!
- WEEK ONE (Jan 12 – Jan 18): Cereal vs. Oatmeal
- WEEK TWO (Jan 19 – Jan 25): Peanut Butter vs. Jelly
- WEEK THREE (Jan 26 – Feb 1): Pork and Beans vs. Canned Tomatoes
- WEEK FOUR (Feb 2 – Feb 9): Canned Meals (like Chef Boyardee or Chili) vs. Canned Chicken
(By the way, other non-perishable food items are also welcomed!)
Bring your donations to the Gathering Center at First Lutheran, cast your vote with each food item and make a difference! Each Monday, we’ll tally the contributions to announce the weekly winner! Even if your favorite doesn’t win, you’ll still help fill the shelves of the Lincoln Lutheran Food Pantry.
Together, we can make an impact. Can we count on you?
