What has a bigger impact than a trio of 300-pound linebackers bearing down on a quarterback? YOU!
Huddle up your friends and family and lead them in the fight against hunger. Now, more than ever, our neighbors and community needs your help. The number of families struggling to put good food on their tables continues to grow.
You can make a difference by participating in our Souper Bowl of Caring, starting this week through Super Bowl Sunday on February 7. Each week we will have a competition between two nonperishable foods. Donate as much of one or both items as you wish (other nonperishable food will be accepted, too!). Bring your donated items to the Gathering area at church between regular business hours.
The weekly competitions are:
Week One (January 3-9): Pancake mix vs. Oatmeal
Week Two (January 10-16): Pork and Beans vs. Chili
Week Three (January 17-23): Pasta vs. Rice
Week Four (January 24-30): Canned Vegetables vs. Canned Fruits
We will count all the food items on February 7 and announce the winners of each week’s competion before donating all the food to the Lutheran Food Pantry.
“Lord, as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us be mindful of those who are without a bowl of soup to eat.”
