The Lincoln Food Bank BackPack Program helps students who qualify for their school’s Free or Reduced Lunch Programs by providing a food-filled backpack to the child and family over the weekend. The BackPack Program is a way to help students return to school where they know they can have breakfast or lunch. First Lutheran has been a sponsor of the BackPack Program for many years serving area neighborhood elementary schools. The BackPack Program was paused last school year because of the pandemic, but is expected to resume this school year. It costs about $250 for one student to receive weekly backpacks for an entire school year. Our Noisy Offering this Sunday in worship will support First Lutheran’s BackPack Program.
