“Swingin” Into Spring for March 2 First Friday Jazz

By February 20, 2018Events, News

Swingin, Singin, and Springin is the focus of The Ripplers  March 2 concert at First Lutheran Church featuring bassist Andy Hall.

Although a Lincoln native, Andy is not fond of Nebraska winters.  So he’s anticipating Spring with a number of “Spring” tunes for this concert that translates into selections such as “I Got the Spring Fever Blues,”  “Might as Well be Spring,” “Pick Yourself Up,” “I Want to be Happy,” and many more.

Hall currently teaches jazz bass at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and is a featured educator at  jazz workshops and camps throughout the U.S. and around the world. With Andy on bass, he will be joined by John Scofield on drums, Scott Vicroy on tenor sax and Peter Bouffard on guitar.

The free concert will be held from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm in the Activity Center at First Lutheran Church. Lunch is available for purchase at the concert.  Although this is a free performance,  audience members are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for the Food Pantry.
