Twelve Young People Take First Communion

We welcomed twelve children to God’s table during our Maundy Thursday worship service as they took their first communion. In Holy Baptism, these young people were received into the family of the church and by Christ as his own. As a gift of his love, our Lord Jesus Christ gave his church his Holy Supper and invites his own to receive the sacrament in faith for the forgiveness of sins, as he said: “Do this in remembrance of me.” These young people completed First Communion class and have learned what Christ has done for them and the gift that is being offered them. We are proud of them and their parents for reaching this milestone in their faith life and we gladly welcome and join them at the Lord’s Table.
