Unleashing the Wild Women: A Night of Laughter, Legacy and Bold Beginnings!

By February 25, 2025Events, News
Missed the Wild Women of First kick-off event last night? No worries – we’ve got the highlights!

On a night full of laughter, applause and just the right amount of shenanigans, nearly 50 incredible women came together to launch this bold new ministry and kick off International Women’s Month in March. Ranging in age from 17 to nearly 90, these Wild Women brought sugar, spice and plenty of wild nice to make the night unforgettable.

What’s a Wild Woman of First?

Great question! A Wild Woman owns her awesomeness, loves to have fun and celebrates what makes every woman unique. These are women like Karen L., who’s never broken a bone, and Carlene F., who’s never been in a hospital (seriously, how?). They’re the kind of women who wear feather boas, quirky hats and oversized sunglasses – no apologies needed.
Wild Women bring all kinds of life stories. Some are married (for 30 years or more!) , some are single and some just come for the food. They’ve hit milestones like mastering languages, reading the entire Bible or rolling their tongue. And yes, a few have racked up some speeding tickets – no names mentioned! These women are entrepreneurs, running their own businesses or pursuing thriving side hustles.

They bond over their unique quirks and shared experiences – like a mutual dislike of chocolate (yes, really) and coffee, celebrating a St. Patrick’s Day birthday and enduring bad dates. Being “wild” is all about celebrating what makes you, you and us, us.

The evening wasn’t just about celebrating the women in the room – it was about honoring the original Wild Women of history. Think Aretha Franklin belting empowerment, Sandra Day O’Connor shattering legal barriers, Madonna smashing records, Bobbi Gibb outrunning expectations and Sally Ride going out of this world. These trailblazers didn’t just break ceilings – they paved the way for today’s Wild Women.

If you missed it, you missed something epic. But don’t worry, we’re just getting started! The energy was electric, the fun was off the charts, and the verdict is in: we HAVE to do this again (and again! and again!).

Three new events are already on the calendar:
May 5 (Celebrating Cinco de Mayo!)
July 21
October 13

This is your chance to meet amazing women, join the fun and celebrate everything that makes you you. Want to stay in the loop? Email Kari at karibrandt@hotmail.com.

The Wild Women of First are on the move and the only thing missing is YOU! Chase down the traveling “Born to be Wild” guitar – autographed by the trailblazing women of the first inaugural gathering – and compete for the legendary Wild Women Trophy, currently doing joint custody with Cora and Kate (thanks to a dead-even clap-o-meter showdown).

Ready to make more unforgettable, wild history? Jump on the Wild Women train because as one of the Wild Women quoted, “Well behaved women seldom make history.”
